Reflecting back on the year

Another year is coming to an end and the best thing to describe my state of mind right now is "LOST". With the Long road to ruin by Foo Fighters playing in the background its not really helping. The past 3+ years have been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Am still not sure what I want to do and where I want to go in life. Most people seem to know and have a clear direction by this age but seems like I need a little more time to understand things in life.

I have learned a lot over the years yet there is something that I seem to be missing. I almost feel like the ranting swede (A character on Sheep In The Big City). But thats another post altogether. Coming back to the year gone by it been an interesting year, getting rid of the extra baggage I was carrying over the last few years. I know all this sounds cryptic but I really cannot help it. Hoping for a change and something new and interesting in the coming year.

Thinking of technology this year there were a lot of new buzzwords SilverLight, Adobe AIR, JavaFX, Google Gears, iPhone, gPhone (Android), Open Social etc. but nothing really good enough to hold anyones attention. Maybe except for iPhone the others created a buzz and kind of died down. Vista came in and could not conquer and not to be left behind Leopord had its own share of problems. In the end I would still put my money on Vista only if they can put into peoples head that you need the next generation hardware to run the OS. A lot seems to have happened in technology but it seems like we are going back in time rather than moving ahead. There was hardly anything new or interesting that I can remember this year for in terms of technology.

Personally in terms of technology one of my posts was on slashdot and this year unlike last year none of my posts were on digg or reddit. Have to start writing something interesting next year.

I will try and add more in this post but for now I am drawing an about:blank.

Strange and funny day

The moment I woke up I had so much that I had thought I would complete by the end of the say. Surprisingly the day turned out a lot different than I had expected. I did not work as I had planned but I met a friend and it felt refreshing and have no idea how the day went by. At first I thought that I would complete one of the many projects that are stuck up in my head. If nothing else I wrote like three blog posts today and that in a weird way is an accomplishment none the less.

This week has been strange in every possible sense. My phone did not ring nor did I get any random messages. My inbox was empty and there were hardly any mails, no spam either. It felt like I was being ignored :) by the spammers also. And today all of a sudden I talked to a few friends and my inbox had quite a few messages but thankfully no spammer sent me a mail.

Welcome or Taare Zameen Par

I am not really a movie buff but after sitting and watching two movies over the week, it was more than necessary to write about it. The first movie I saw was "Taare Zameen Par" and the second was Welcome. Both are bollywood movies but both were the exact opposite of each other. I enjoyed watching Taare Zameen Par 'cause of the way the story was and also the music was pleasing. The second movie Welcome was a train wreak at best. It was a torture to watch that pathetic movie, and it just made me question if I had lost my sense of humor. Many people seemed to enjoy the movie but I felt it was completely mindless. Not that I was looking for something earth shattering the whole movie made little or no sense.

There was hardly any plot to speak of. It was like stringing half a dozen unfunny situations together and presenting it as a movie. I have watched a few movies over the last few months that really make me question my sense of humor. Have I really lost it, or are these movie really just beyond senseless.

Before and After

I have never really had a beard and for the last 20 days after not shaving I had grown a beard. It looked so weird but none the less a change. I had planned a before and after and I just got a comment that the look with the beard was a lot better. This post seems so narcissistic.

Positive side effects of being ill

Its been two weeks since I got back and am still to fully recover from the fever and cold. I still have a sore throat and been a little slow with work. I still have a few mails left that I need to reply back to. If I have not replied back to you I am sorry and will do it as soon as I can. Thats the apology and now coming back to the post, there has been one really positive side effect of the trip. In the two weeks I was there I had loads of salads and after getting back have not been able to eat much food either. I have lost a few pounds of weight that I have so desperately been trying to get rid of. If nothing else I had some healthy food (the veggies that I normally tend to skip) that my body so desperately needed.

Its not the best way to loose weight but who am I to complain. I just hope I don't end up putting back the weight this winter. I am planning to follow a little exercise regime but thats still a plan and am still not sure if I will be able to follow up with it. The other good or bad thing that has happened since I returned back is that I have not bothered to shave. I have a two week old stubble and I plan to keep it up for a month or till I don't start feeling all weird.

I had met some interesting people on my trip and have still not got back to anyone so far, not like anyone would be expecting me to get back. But still I think its good to stay in touch with a few interesting people.

Coming back to work I have not done even a single thing in the last one month. Everything that I started has been hanging in a limbo. My TODO list seems to be growing with each passing day. The first thing I really want is a new look and feel for the blog and my website. But lets see if I can do something in the coming holidays.

Stranger than fiction

Its almost been a month since my last post and a lot has happened in the last few days and weeks. For the last 2 weeks I was in Oslo and had some good time there. Returned back 2 days back and have been in bed ever since I returned back. Not sure what else I want to write.

While I was in Oslo I got a mail that this blog had been marked as a blog spam and would be deleted. I tried posting yesterday but I could not. But since I have been able to post I think that its been removed from that list.
